JULY 2007 NEWSLETTER
Dear members,
Approximately 50% of the Mid-Del Archers members have submitted their annual dues to date. Thank you for your timely submittals. For those of you that have not yet submitted your annual dues please do so by the end of July to allow for updating of the membership list. Please contact me mrarcher@aol.com if you have any questions or comments regarding membership renewal.
An apology is in order; I promised membership cards with in a week after receiving your dues. I could not process your membership cards as promised as I participated, along with Jim Roberts, in the National Senior Olympic Summer Games at Louisville, Kentucky from July 1, thru July 10, 2007. Neither Jim nor I medaled but we both shot well and finished 17th in our respective classes. Anyway, membership cards for the 2008 year will be issued before the end of July.
Registration form is available for the Delaware Senior Olympic annual Archery competition which is scheduled for October 14 this year. The date has been moved to October to take advantage of cooler weather. Contact mrarcher41@aol.com for further information.
Thank you to all those who assisted in making the Delaware Bay Archery Tournament a success, the range was set up well and the refreshments were very good.
Check out the Mid-Del Archers website for the “Shoot for the Loot” current standings.
Help is needed to get our field archery range back in operation. If you have time feel free to bring your chain saw and clear shooting lanes to any of the 14 target butts. To determine the lane position, locate range markers which were in the approximate center of the lane. Lane width should be a minimum of 5 feet.
A gate has been installed across the target storage building lean to opening to secure the Gator and mower. Contact Jim Eastman or David Slack to gain access to either piece of equipment.
We are still looking for members willing to become trained as archery instructors in order to support a youth archery program that is in the discussion stage. I have not received any response from the membership on this matter. Send us your comments, pro or con, related to the start of a youth training archery program. Better yet come to the monthly membership meeting and voice your opinion.
Respectfully,
David Slack
